If you are one of the first persons to come upon the scene of a collision, the first thing you should do is pull your vehicle off the road. Next, check to see if anyone is injured. Do not move injured persons unless there is a danger of fire or explosion. Notify emergency officials and do not stand in traffic lanes. If flares, emergency triangles, or reflectors are available, place them 200 feet or more in front of and behind the accident scene to warn approaching traffic.
