Let’s get ready for your Utah DLD Permit Test

This Utah DLD practice exam has been updated for 2022 and includes 40 questions from the official 2022 UT Driver Handbook. To receive your learner’s permit or driver’s license in Utah, you must pass a written knowledge exam by answering 40 out of 50 multiple-choice questions correctly. You must be 15 or older to apply for a learner’s permit. If you are 17 or younger, you must have had your learner’s permit for six months before applying for a normal license. Anyone aged 15 to 18 with a learner’s permit must complete a driver’s education course. If you are 19 or older, you may either forgo a driver education course and keep your learner’s permit for 90 days, or attend the course and keep your permit for 90 days. A learner’s permit costs $15, and it may be renewed for $15. The questions on this Utah DMV permit practice exam are taken from the Driver Handbook.

Can undocumented immigrants apply for a Utah driver's license?
A Utah driver's license may be obtained by an unlawful immigrant, assuming the proper documents is given. Unauthorized immigrants will be issued a one-year driver's license under the new legislation. A tax identification number and evidence of Utah residence are required for applicants. Using the card for identifying purposes is not permitted under the card's terms of service.

Do I have to complete a driver education course to obtain a UT driver's license?
If you are under the age of 19, you can. Driving under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian is also required (including 10 during night hours).
