Let’s get ready for your Hawaii DMV Permit Test

This Hawaii DMV practice exam is updated for 2022 and includes 40 questions on traffic signs and laws. A general knowledge exam based on the 2022 Hawaii Driver’s Manual is required to get a learner’s permit or license in Hawaii. The exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions, and you must properly answer 24 of them to pass. Some counties, like Hawaii, give the exam in languages other than English (which requires paying an extra fee). Unlike other states, costs vary by county, thus although the written exam is $1 in Hawaii, it is $5 in Maui. Ask ahead of time whether a county only accepts checks or cash. To receive a learner’s permit, you must be 15 years and 6 months old and have parental or guardian approval. This Hawaii permit practice exam offers 40 multiple-choice questions to help you assess your knowledge of the driver’s handbook and identify areas for improvement.
