Start preparing for your Texas DMV Permit Test

This Texas DMV practice exam has been updated for 2024 and includes 40 questions from the official TX Driver Handbook. The official Texas permit exam needs 80% passing. You must properly answer 24 out of 30 questions. Anyone under the age of 18 must first get a learner’s permit, then a temporary license valid until they reach 18. A learner license is for those aged 15 to 18 and requires passing a vision test, the non-driving section of a driver education course, and a knowledge test. The Texas Driver Handbook includes information about the permit exam, the GDL program, licensing payments, and more. This DMV Practice Exam can help you pass the written test for a learner’s permit or the knowledge test for a standard license if you’re older than 18.
